Our Team

Linette Torres

Mrs. Torres devotes most of her practice to trademark litigation, which involves handling trademark opposition, cancellation and annulment actions before specialized courts of law. She also has vast experience negotiating and drafting settlements and coexistence agreements, and prosecuting trademark applications and recordals with the Industrial Property Office.

She has a licentiate degree in Law and Political Science from the Universidad Santa María La Antigua in Panama, an LL.M. in Intellectual Property from the Franklin Pierce Law Center in the United States, and has always been involved with IP work. Throughout law school, she worked as a paralegal and a legal assistant at Benedetti & Benedetti, recognized as the leading IP law firm in Panama, where she later became an associate.

Linette regularly represents and advises clients from different industries including sports, apparel and consumer products, obtaining favourable decisions either plaintiff or defendant party.

Memberships: Panama Bar Association, Panamanian Association of Intellectual Property Law – APADEPI.

Languages: Spanish and English.

When not at the office, you can find Linette taking Zumba classes, at the park with her spouse and daughter or at any of her daughter´s extracurricular activities.
